It is essential for the safety to have an emergency stopping switch. But the reloading of the installation implies large and often needless intervention costs. To solve this problem, you just need an automatic restart of the escalator thanks to this absolutely reliable system of person detection.

The person detection works through a collection of detection channels with infrared beams which cover the whole length of the escalator and the front plates. The channels are explored at great speed one after the other and every cut of a beam instantaneously indicates somebody's presence. If after the stopping of the escalator, no presence is detected, the escalator is reloaded and ready to restart at the next request.

The channels of light are totally waterproof. Besides, this equipment can be used for other important functions such as the speed variation of the escalators according to their occupancy or the reversible upwards/downwards putting on through a request of the users.
