iCAR- CLASS

Today, the counting system via double inductive loops reigns supreme among the motorways networks managers. iCAR-CLASS is a system of classified counting video that is meant to be a strong and daring alternative. It gains in precision and gives the dimensions of each vehicle. After a self-calibration of some minutes, the integrated system counts the vehicles, fixes their class and measures their speed.

DESCRIPTION

iCAR-CLASS is an integrated system that includes a high-definition digital camera. This is coupled together with a powerful processor that analyzes traffic in real time and communicates with a counting post by Ethernet. In option, it is accompanied by another camera to work in stereo.

iCAR-CLASS begins by fixing automatically the number of lanes on the road and by proportioning the scene, uses a camera and two software modules :

• a module for picture analysis based on front vehicle detection distinguishes the vehicles classified according to four categories.
• a tracking module follows the vehicles moving.

iCAR-CLASS 3D uses 2 cameras and adds an extra module : the bounding box. It fixes the three basic dimensions of the vehicles (height, length, width).
